Site Promotions, Marketing Techniques Help Eco-Friendly Travel Sites
Internet-Marketing April 15th, 2009An eco-friendly travel company could employ several simple Internet marketing techniques and site promotions in order to increase their customer database and therefore increase their revenue.
Even though an eco-friendly travel company is a real world brick-and-mortar style business, they should invest in an Internet presence such as a website or an online store in order to gain more targeted customers. The majority of potential customers looking for eco-friendly travel turn to the Internet to search for what they need or want above all other media combined. The phonebook is obsolete because it asks a potential customer to do work to find information – dial a phone number and ask for the information. Newspapers and magazines offer little more than the telephone book and radio and television advertising spots are typically reserved for major brand merchandise and big-budget productions.
Once a company such as a hybrid rental cars company has a website, they need to engage in site promotions in order to make sure as many people as possible know about the website and visit the website in order to get them through the website and into the real world brick-and-mortar location. Site promotions could include placing the website on all paper products like letterhead paper, envelopes, return address labels and business cards. Plus the website should be placed at the bottom of all correspondence like an e-mail so that the e-mail recipient could simply click on the line and be transported to the website.
Other marketing techniques a mini greenhouse company could engage in would be search engine optimization or SEO. Search engine optimization is the act of placing keyword rich articles on a company’s website in order to attract the three major search engines – MSN, Yahoo!, and Google. These three major search engines send out their “feelers” so that they might locate the keywords and keyword phrases within the articles and among their websites and then rank the websites according to a special formula. This special formula is known only to the three major search engines; however it is acknowledged that the special formula has to do with the number of keywords or keyword phrases within a company’s website. Keywords and keyword phrases are the words prospective customers place in the search boxes on the search engines in order to find what they need or want.
Another marketing method often overlooked by many companies is blogging. Placing a blog on a green travel company’s website allows for former satisfied customers to blog about their experiences with a particular company as a way of writing a testimonial for a particular company. All businesses should have some sort of testimonials from former customers so that new and potential customers have some type of gauge as to how a company treats their customers. Blogs are the perfect answer for testimonials.
By having a web presence and marketing it through various Internet marketing methods, a green friendly business could reach more customers and thereby increase their revenue.
