Phonak and Microtech Hearing Aids Each Offer Hearing Impaired Individuals Something New

Phonak hearing aids began in Germany and now have its home base in Switzerland. In 1978, Phonak launched the SuperFront which was the highest amplification hearing aid at the time. The company went on to be the first to introduce wireless technology so that a person wearing one of their hearing aid devices could communicate on a Bluetooth, cell phone or other audio listening or musical piece of equipment. In 2006, Phonak introduced a global inactive “Hear the World” to bolster awareness, prevention and offer solutions to hearing loss. They also discussed the psychological and social effects hearing loss has on an individual.
MicroTech hearing aids are custom fit to each individual because hearing loss is different for everyone it affects. The MicroTech hearing aid will also be programmed to your specific needs for the same reason, everyone’s hearing loss is different and what works for one individual may not work for another. MicroTech makes no promises to restore hearing to its normal condition – no hearing aid company can do that. However, a hearing aid can help a hearing-impaired person dramatically increase the sounds they do hear, where they are coming from and in most cases, what they are.
People lose their hearing for a number of reasons – if they were not born with a hearing impairment. Recent research has shown that more and more young people, people in their twenties and thirties, are loosing their hearing due to the advanced technology of audio listening devices such as MP3 players with the small earbuds that ‘push’ sound directly into the inner ear where the eardrum is. Also, more people who have been on medications for long periods of time are discovering one of the long-term side effects could be a hearing loss depending on which medication and how long the person has been taking it. And finally, hereditary, your genes could be the biggest culprit of all that when it comes to why an individual loses their hearing. Of course people may simply lose their hearing due to old age as well. The reasons are numerous and so are the solutions.
