Even a real world brick and mortar style business, such as a hearing aid company, should have an Internet presence in the form of a website in order to reach more targeted customers which our customers looking for exactly what a hearing aid company has to offer. Additionally, more and more people are turning to the Internet to search for what they need and want than any other media combined and this includes their local phone book, magazines and newspapers and television and radio advertisements. This is because the Internet offers potential customers more information that empowers them with the education they need to make an informed decision about the products and services they are about to come in contact with.
Once a hearing aid company has their website in place they could begin performing some site promotions by placing the website address on all paper products such as envelopes and letterhead paper, business cards and return address labels in addition to e-mail correspondence in any promotional materials such as coupons or advertising flyers.
One Internet marketing method that has been proven over and over is search engine optimization or SEO. Search engine optimization is the act of placing keyword rich articles on a hearing aid company’s website in order to attract the three major search engines – MSN, Yahoo!, and Google. These major search engines send out their “feelers” in order to locate the keywords and keyword phrases within the articles and then rank the websites according to a special formula. Keyword phrases and keywords are the words potential customers place on the search boxes in the search engines in order to find what they need or want. Having a high ranking on the major websites is beneficial to a business because the majority of people who use search engines make their choice to click on a website from the first few listings brought back by the major search engines.
Another way to attract more customers and possibly increase their revenue would be for a hearing aid company to add hearing aid reviews and comparisons to their website which would also help increase a company’s search engine ranking. A blog would also help a hearing aid company to add to their customer database and their revenue because a blog is a place where former customers can write about their satisfaction with the product and services rendered by a hearing aid company as a sort of testimonial.
By using site promotions and Internet marketing methods such as search engine optimization and blogging, a hearing aid company could increase their revenue in addition to increasing their customer database.
