In order to save money, many newly engaged couples are opting to combine their wedding and honeymoon into what some bride magazines have dubbed ‘weddingmoons,’ which is a combination of their wedding ceremony and the honeymoon all in one spot. A destination wedding is another name for this type of celebration which often brings the entire family and all the couples’s friends together as well.
One of the more popular destination wedding or ‘weddingmoon’ spots in the United States is weddings in Michigan where couples are married in a quaint castle that is reminiscent of ancient times with everything a century old castle would have if it were located in a castle filled country like Ireland or Scotland, but right here in the U.S.
The Michigan site is one of the more centralized locations unlike the Florida Keys where most family and friends would have to travel a longer distance for that type of tropical destination wedding. Since Michigan experiences all four seasons, a couple has their choice of when they want to get married and what type of wedding experience they would like to have. Some couples that are more winter style people could have a beautiful winter wedding in Michigan next to the frozen lake which makes wonderful photographs in the stunning white snow.
When people say destination weddings they typically think of Hawaii, the Bahamas or even the cost of Florida, but not everyone enjoys blowing sand off their wedding cake. A castle wedding has large tents in some of the lovely gardens to accommodate all the invited guests or if a bride and groom would prefer, there are several castle rooms for smaller or large receptions to fit any theme or style, from a sit down dinner to an afternoon tea and brunch.
In order for friends and family to make provisions to attend a destination wedding, they should be given as much advanced notice as possible so that they may save up the money for travel and lodging.
