Children should be brushing their teeth from an early age say the ADA – American Dental Association and a Washington dentist agrees. A parent should brush children and baby’s teeth for them to make sure they are doing it right.

Children should be using fluoride toothpaste beginning when they have a full mouth of teeth to brush; however, it should be no bigger than a ‘pea-size’ dab of toothpaste. Before the child is four, and adult should brush the teeth for them, even if they resist because they will not get the hang of true brushing until a little later.

After age four, a dependable child could be allowed to brush his or her teeth.
