Beginning with a site promotion, a storage unit company needs to have a web presence even though they may not sell anything online, however they could open an online store and sell moving/packing boxes, tapes, packing materials, packing peanuts, bubble wrap and markers so that when the customers arrive at the self storage unit company, everything is waiting for them. However an online presence dose much more than announce the hours of operation, give directions and sell things. A website could help bring targeted customers to the website and ultimately to the real world store.
To begin with, a site promotion should be done with every piece of paper a self storage unit company handles. Every letterhead paper, envelope, return address label and business card should have the website address printed on it.
After site promotions come the marketing of the website and real-world business. Marketing methods include search engine optimization or SEO, article exchanges, hyperlinking articles and posting to blogs and Internet websites.
Search engine optimization is the act of placing a keyword rich article on a self storage unit company’s website in order for the three major search engines – MSN, Google and Yahoo! – who send out their ‘feelers’ to find the keywords or keyword phrases and rank the website according to a special formula. Keywords and keyword phrases are the words potential customers use in the search boxes on the search engines to look for what they need or what they want. A St. Petersburg Storage company’s ranking on the major search engines will then rise according to the special formula and they will receive more customers because they will have a high ranking on the search engine webpages.
The same keyword rich article could be used in an article exchange with another website in order to increase the company’s customer database in addition to helping the search engine ranking. An article exchange between a self storage company and different local pawn shops would work nicely because people who have an abundance of items often look to pawn shops to sell off some of their unwanted valuables.
Internet news websites are another place to put keyword rich articles, they are always looking for well-written articles that are also informative that will help their readers understand new products or services. These articles do not necessarily have to discuss something new; just have to be informative and well-written.
Additionally, hyperlinking an article is similar to a link exchange except that the link is placed within the article and highlighted and made clickable using a word or keyword instead of the actual link. Then when the reader clicks on the link, they are transported to another website for more information about the keyword or the article.
Site promotions and marketing methods will help a self storage company gain more customers to both their website and their real-world brick-and-mortar locations which will ultimately increase their revenues.
